Martyn Day was first elected as the SNP MP for Linlithgow & Falkirk East in 2015, being reelected in 2019 with a majority of 11,266.

The constituency of Linlithgow and East Falkirk is found in West Lothian to the west of Edinburgh on the southern side of the Firth of Forth.  It includes the communities of Blackbridge, Bathgate, Armadale, and Linlithgow.  Once a safe Labour seat held by the veteran Labour MP and old Etonion, Tam Dalyell, the SNP gained the seat as part of its 2015 Scottish landslide.

Martyn Day was appointed the SNP’s lead health spokesperson at Westminster in December 2021. He previoulsy had been the party’s public health spokesperson.

Born in 1971 in Falkirk, Day worked in personal banking at The Bank of Scotland before being elected to Parliament.  He served on West Lothian County Council between 1999 and 2015.

Martyn Day is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Antibiotics. He is Vice Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on Food and Health; the Future of Retail; Internet, Communications, and Technology; Professional Sales; and Compassionate Politics.
