Julie Marson is the Conservative MP for Hertford and Stortford, having first been elected to Parliament in 2019 with a majority of 19,620.
The Hertford and Stortford constituency is found in the south east of Hertfordshire along the border with Essex. It includes the towns of Hertford, Bishop’s Stortford, Sawbridgeworth, and Ware. The seat has train lines that go straight into the City of London at Liverpool street. Alongside its commuter population there is also a presence for the pharmaceutical company Glaxo in this area. This is a semi rural and safe Conservative seat. It was evenly split in the 2016 Brexit referendum.

Born in 1965 in Barking in east London, Julie Marson was educated at the local grammar school, and then at Cambridge University. She worked in corporate banking at Nat West and RBS before becoming an MP.
Marson supported Leave in the 2016 EU referendum.
She is the owner of a blonde cockapoo pet dog, aptly called Boris.
Marson previously served as a councillor on Thanet District Council in Kent, and was for a number of years, a magistrate. She is married with one son.
Marson has been a defender of trans rights and has called for LGBT conversion therapy to be banned.
She is the Co Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on adverse childhood experiences, and the innovation corridor. She is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on Rural Services, and Building Communities.
