In late 2021, Blackman revealed how three people have been prosecuted for abusing her since she has become an MP. She said one of the men sent her a threatening letter, another was “verbally abusive” and the third “travelled from the south of England to Aberdeen where he was intercepted by police.”

Born in 1986 Blackman worked for a number of SNP Members of the Scottish Parliament before being elected to Westminster.   She previously served as a Councillor on Aberdeen City Council between 2007 and 2015.
