Flick Drummond was first elected as the Conservative MP for Portsmouth South in 2015. Having been defeated in the 2017 General Election, she was reelected to Parliament for the nearby safe Hampshire seat of Meon Valley in 2019 with a majority of 23,555.
The constituency of Meon Valley contains the towns of Waterlooville and Bishop’s Waltham alongside the villages of Wickham and Rowlands Castle in the Hampshire countryside to the north of Havant and Fareham. This is a relatively affluent area with home ownership well above the national average. It is a safe seat for the Conservative Party.
After boundary changes to this seat, Flick Drummond has been selected at the Conservative candidate for the nearby seat of Winchester at the next election.
Flick Drummond worked previously and variously as an insurance broker, an OFSTED inspector, and a TA intelligence Officer. She is Vice Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Armed Forces Covenant.
Drummond was born in Yemen in 1962. She was educated at Hull University, and sat on Winchester City Council between 1996 and 2000. She lived in America between 1999 and 2004
Remainer who is now vice chair of the Conservative European Forum. She sits on the body with other figures whom are deemed hostile to Boris Johnson, such as Stephen Hammond and the former MP Dominic Grieve.
Flick Drummond is married with 4 grown up children. She supported Remain in the 2016 EU referendum. At Westminster she is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Women, Peace and Security.
