Jeremy Corbyn standing as an independent – Will his constituents vote for him?
Keir Starmer announced that Jeremy Corbyn would not be allowed to stand as a Labour MP at the next General Election. He says he wants the party to change and that eradicating antisemitism is vital in making this happen.
Corbyn has accused Sir Keir Starmer of “a flagrant attack on the democratic rights of Islington North Labour Party members” but has so far remained silent on whether he will stand independently.
But would his constituents still vote for him? And what do they think of Starmer’s decision? Our political correspondent Alicia Fitzgerald went to Islington North to gauge some opinion…
