When asked what they wanted most from their next prime minister, a common answer was “integrity” as well as “unity to both the country and the party”. Frequent mentions also included solving the cost of living crisis and implementing stricter tax policies:
The event was held on Wednesday the 31st August, and the vote closes today on Friday the 2nd September. There had been 11 hustings events before this, as well as TV and radio debates between the candidates. So what brought members to this event so near to the voting deadline? Were they still undecided, and if so, why?
