In recent years it has taken on a variety of projects which cut-across all aspects of British society:
- Championing lifelong learning and skills reform in UK education under the banner of the Lifelong Education Commission
- Founding the Eastern Powerhouse, a business-led partnership which is making the case for greater investment in the East of England
- Pressuring the government to review its rules on the management of asbestos in public buildings – through the Airtight on Asbestos campaign
