Former Energy and Climate Change Secretary Chris Huhne’s reacts to PM’s Net Zero commitments review

Chris Huhne, Chair of the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) and former Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change commented on the stories on the PM’s review of the UK Net Zero commitments.

He said:

Backsliding on net zero will cost UK consumers more in the long run – look at the Treasury’s failure over energy insulation, and the cost of subsidising gas bills in the last two years – and it will sabotage the growth prospects of the green industries of the future. For biogas, it will also put the UK even more at the mercy of world price swings in the gas price.”
