Lib Dems commit to 0.7%
Over the weekend Lib Dem leader Ed Davey announced the party’s position that ODA should immediately return to 0.7% at the Lib Dem spring conference.
In reaction to the Lib Dem’s position that ODA should immediately return to 0.7% at the Lib Dem spring conference, Stephanie Draper, CEO of Bond, the UK network of NGOs, said:
“The Liberal Democrat Party’s position that UK Aid should return immediately to 0.7% is the right one. If the UK is to be a strategic and trustworthy global partner, it must honour its commitment to provide support to communities impacted by poverty, food insecurity, conflict and climate change. We hope to see all parties commit to returning to the 0.7% target as soon as possible and plan sustainable solutions to tackle global inequality and insecurity.”
