New London health data from Census
Responding to latest health data from the census, Centre for London researcher Jon Tabbush said:
“London has seen the biggest increase in the country of people rating their health positively, and the biggest fall in people rating their health negatively. This is great news for the city.
The boroughs which saw the biggest increases in positive health ratings and biggest decreases in negative health ratings were Hackney, Newham, and Tower Hamlets – all 2012 Olympic boroughs.
But we can’t be complacent about Londoners’ health. The government and Transport for London need to continue work to make sure active travel is a practical option for more Londoners and air quality is improving.
And the underlying determinants of health – good quality homes and helping people with the cost-of-living crisis – cannot be ignored.”
