Cystic Fibrosis Trust statement: Response to Chancellor’s speech
David Ramsden, Chief Executive of Cystic Fibrosis Trust, said: “People with Cystic Fibrosis have made it clear to us that their cost of living is a crisis that is happening right now, with 1 in 3 people missing hospital appointments due to cost and 1 in 3 running out of food before they have money to buy more. Ahead of the Budget later this Autumn, the Government must set out a clear plan to ensure that those most in need of help get a real term increase and not a cut to the support they receive.
“In his speech today, the Chancellor said we can’t have a strong NHS without growing the economy, however, we know that the NHS needs support now to ensure that specialist services like CF teams are resourced to provide life-saving care in the months and years ahead.”
