Make UK A levels comment
Jamie Cater, Senior Policy Manager Make UK said:
“The fact that both the number of students achieving higher grades in A Levels and the progression rate into higher education across all STEM subjects are higher than pre-pandemic levels is great news for manufacturers, who are eager to welcome the next generation of talent into the sector.
“It is also encouraging to see the first cohort of around 1,000 T Level students receive their results today, including a 90% pass rate on the digital route, where manufacturers are already using the programme to address demand for digital skills. As manufacturers in England prepare for the introduction of the engineering and manufacturing T Level from this September, employers across the sector are keen to play their part in developing a new generation of makers. While partially disrupted due to the pandemic, it is positive that 94% of T Level learners were able to complete an industry placement with an employer.
“Today’s results will help to demonstrate that both A Levels and T Levels can provide a clear path to great opportunities such as an apprenticeship or higher education, and that T Level industry placements provided by businesses are a vital part of their success.”
