Centre for London response to ONS inflation figures, December 2021

Responding to today’s inflation figures, Nick Bowes, Chief Executive, Centre for London said: 

“Today’s inflation figures will alarm many Londoners, especially those who are already struggling after a turbulent few years. 

“The cost of living in the capital is already higher than elsewhere in the country, and rising prices may leave some Londoners with difficult choices to make as we head into the festive season.

“The government must reinstate support for those who have been hard by the pandemic and those who may be at risk of losing their jobs as pandemic restrictions change.”
