Centre for London response to River Crossings report

Responding to the London Assembly’s River Crossings report, Nick Bowes, Chief Executive of Centre for London said: river

“A modern city like London must bring right up to date the way it maintains and invests in key strategic infrastructure like river crossings. London’s fragmented ownership of river crossings and insufficient funding has meant the city had muddled through for too long. Transport for London should have a stronger role in coordinating work on river crossings and the city needs meaningful fiscal devolution so it has access to the resources needed not just to maintain existing crossings, but build new ones where they are needed the most”
