BHA: London to host meeting of European humanists

Humanists from all over Europe are convening in London on 5th June for the annual general assembly of the European Humanist Federation (EHF), this year hosted by the British Humanist Association (BHA).

Hanne Stinson, BHA chief executive commented, ‘Humanism and humanist organisations have a long history in Europe, working nationally and across borders to promote humanist values such as liberty, equality and secular politics. The EHF, of which the BHA is a member, has a special role in uniting those organisations and individuals to work on behalf of humanists and all who share our values in the European Union and the European Parliament.’

‘For the BHA to host the EHF general assembly in London this year cements our humanist commitment to internationalism, and we look forward to welcoming our colleagues from countries as diverse as Norway and Sweden to Romania, Italy and Belgium, as well as our neighbours in Scotland and the Republic of Ireland.’

The EHF general assembly will this year be discussing education across Europe as well as the fate of atheist bus campaigns in countries other than England, where some have been banned.
