BHA: London to host international humanist conferences
Humanists from all over the world are convening in London on 6th-10th June for the annual general assembly of the International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU) and the first World Conference on Untouchability.
Hanne Stinson, BHA chief executive, said, ‘It is wonderful for the BHA to host such prestigious events as the IHEU general assembly and its international conference, which will explore the widespread problem of caste systems which label people as “untouchables” and undermine human rights.
‘Humanists from across the globe, including Africa, South Asia and North America, will be attending these events. It provides an important opportunity for humanists to meet and explore issues of international importance and interest together, from humanist schools in Uganda to tackling threats to free speech at the heart of the United Nations.’
