President Zelensky addresses parliament, in visit to the UK
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a surprise visit to the UK. He made a formal address to parliament, thanking the UK for all they have done to aid war efforts.
It is thought to only be his second trip abroad since the Russian invasion of his country almost a year ago. He will also meet with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace later in the afternoon, before heading to Dorset to view some Challenger tanks.
In his address, Zelensky noted that when he visited the United Kingdom two years go, he thanked officials for the “delicious English tea” and, in his usual jovial manner, said that today he “will be leaving Parliament thanking all of you in advance for powerful English planes,”.
He thanked the UK for standing with his country.
The President did also urge Britain to send warplanes to ensure a victory over Russia that would “change the world.”
