Government defends net zero strategy despite court ruling it ‘unlawful’
In response to an urgent question BEIS minister Greg Hands defended the government’s net zero strategy which had been ruled “unlawful” by the High Court.
Hands told the House of Commons that for a 28 year plan there will “inevitably be some evolution”.
However, opposition MPs remain skeptical, with shadow minister Kerry McCarthy pointing to the two possible new prime ministers who either “blocked” climate change responses or want to “scrap” green levies.
