Ken’s finance solution: Hang a banker a week
By Ian Dunt Follow @IanDunt
Ken Livingstone prompted a storm of controversy again last night after he suggested Britain should "hang a banker a week until the others improve".
The comments, made to an after-dinner audience and reported by the Sun, were quickly attacked by banking groups as further evidence of "demonisation".
Mr Livingstone has rebuilt his reputation as a political firebrand over the last few weeks with a series of outspoken comments.
He told gay bankers contemplating moving to Dubai that they risked having their penis "cut off".
He has also sarcastically described current mayor Boris Johnson as "the devil" and "Hitler".
