Andrew Bridgen will not be facing charges of sexual assault after the police dropped their case against him.
The 46-year-old Conservative MP for North West Leicestershire was arrested in the early hours of the morning last Thursday, following a complaint to the police by a 29-year-old woman.
He was released on bail until mid-July following questioning.

But he was today informed by Scotland Yard that the case has been dropped.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "A 46-year-old man, arrested on Thursday June 9th on suspicion of sexual assault against a 29-year-old woman at an address in SW1, was today, Thursday June 16th, released from bail with no further action."
Mr Bridgen had strenuously denied the allegations.
