Cameron’s ‘millionaire Cabinet’

All but six of David Cameron’s 29 Cabinet ministers have assets and investments believed to be worth over £1 million, a newspaper has claimed.
The Mail on Sunday said the combined wealth of the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition was over £60 million.
Most of the money originated in the City and is now held in property assets. The Lib Dems appear as well off as their Tory colleagues.
Lord Strathclyde, the leader of the Lords, tops the list with an estimated value of £10 million. George Osborne was third richest with £4.6 million while David Cameron was estimated to be worth £4 million.
The wealthiest Lib Dem is energy and climate change secretary Chris Huhne, who has an extensive property portfolio worth an estimated £3.5 million. Nick Clegg is 12th on the list, with £1.9 million mainly based on two properties.
The poorest member of the Cabinet is Scottish secretary Danny Alexander, the report said. Other non-millionaire Cabinet members include health secretary Andrew Lansley, local government secretary Eric Pickles and the Lib Dems’ business secretary Vince Cable.
