General election 2010: Conservatives take Warwick and Leamington Spa

A large 8.8% swing away from Labour to the Conservatives saw the Tories gain Warwick and Leamington Spa.
Chris White, the new MP took the seat with 42% of the vote, equal to 20,876 ballots. He holds a majority of 3,513 over Labour’s James Plaskitt.
Turnout in the marginal was very high at 84.5%.


At the time of writing, this result brings the Conservatives’ total of seats to 294.
