Mother ‘angry’ at son’s Brown attack

A Labour candidate who branded Gordon Brown the “worst prime minister ever” has made his mother “very angry”.
Manish Sood, candidate for north west Norfolk, slammed Mr Brown’s record saying he should apologise to the Queen for his “total disaster” as prime minister.
But his mother was not happy, saying: “My late husband gave his life to the Labour party and my loyalty is to the party and to what Gordon Brown has done for the country.
“My son holds his own views but I’m very angry about this and very angry with him. I’m campaigning every night and I’m very proud of that,” she said.
But her son, Mr Sood, stood by his comments in his local paper, the Lynn News.
He said: “Obviously this is a very serious matter because at the end of the day we have a prime minister standing so close to the general election and things are going totally wrong,” he said.
“It’s a real disaster for the cities, the country and the nation.
“Look at the policies that he’s got – increasing national insurance contributions very, very close to the general election.”
Labour minister Douglas Alexander dismissed the comments as “pretty eccentric”.
