The prime minister has convened the emergency Cobra committee over the kidnapping of a British couple a couple by pirates.
Paul Chandler, 59, and his wife Rachel, 55, were seized by pirates after sailing through an area infamous for the kidnappers.
But Cobra was only convened today after the yacht the couple were on, the Lynn Rival, was found floating empty by a Royal Navy warship today.
“There was nothing on board to indicate that the couple had been harmed,” a spokesman for the Ministry of Defence.
Ministers from the Foreign Office and the Ministry of Defence will attend.
