Court blocks anti-EU move
The barriers to British ratification of the Lisbon treaty continue to fall.
The Lords voted for the treaty last night and this morning the high court has rejected moves by Tory MP Bill Cash to block ratification.
Mr Cash had called for a judicial review because of the Irish no vote, but Mr Justice Collins said: “It will be for parliament, not the court, to decide whether the bill should be passed.”
European leaders are meeting in Brussels today to plan their next course of action.
