William graduates
The Queen watched on today as the heir to the throne, Prince William, graduated from the University of St Andrews.
Prince William, who celebrated his 23rd birthday on Tuesday, received a 2:1 degree in geography after four years studying at Scotland’s oldest university.
After he graduated, Prince William visited the local police station with Prince Charles to thank them for the “constant support” and protection he has had in the past four years.
In a statement, the 23-year-old looked back on his time as a student in which he has been largely left to lead a normal life, living in a flat with friends and having a girlfriend.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at St Andrews and I shall be very sad to leave. I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has made my time here so enjoyable,” he said.
