New HMRC criminal investigations director
Roy Clark has been appointed director of criminal investigations for HM Revenues and Customs.
Mr Clark is a former head of Crimestoppers, senior Metropolitan Police figure and is currently director of investigations for the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
This is a new role and Mr Clark will be responsible for developing a new investigation service out of the HMRC and Inland Revenue teams.
Mr Clark said: “I am delighted to be appointed to this new and exciting position and with the prospect of working with experienced Customs and Revenue investigators to forge an investigation arm of HM Revenue & Customs that quickly becomes a world leader and will make a major impact upon fiscal fraud and smuggling.”
He is expected to take up his position in the autumn.
