New ministerial team – full list
With the post-election reshuffle now complete, politics.co.uk takes a look at the composition of the new Cabinet and ministerial team.
There was no change in the top positions with Gordon Brown and Jack Straw remaining as Chancellor and Foreign Secretary respectively. Notable movers at Cabinet level included John Reid’s move to defence and Patricia Hewitt’s appointment as Health Secretary.
Further down the ladder at the junior ministerial ranks controversy was caused by the Prime Minister’s decision to grant Andrew Adonis, one of his special advisers, a life peerage and appoint him to the education department.
