Labour five points ahead in new poll
A new opinion poll puts Labour five points ahead of the Conservatives.
After the first full week of election campaigning, the YouGov poll for the Daily Telegraph has Labour clearly ahead on 38 per cent, up two points from Monday’s survey.
Meanwhile, the Tories are down three points to 33 per cent with the Liberal Democrats up two to 22 per cent.
politics.co.uk’s election predictor shows that should these results reflect actual outcomes, Labour would have their Commons majority trimmed to 134.
YouGov asked 2,240 voters online between April 12 and 14.
Another YouGov poll taken last weekend put Labour and the Tories neck and neck on 36 per cent.
An ICM poll on Wednesday for the Guardian told a different story, putting Labour ahead by six points.
The poll put Labour on 39 per cent with the Tories on 33 per cent – down one point – while the Liberal Democrats were unchanged on 21 per cent.
