London Greens ‘better prepared than ever’

The London Green Party says it is “better prepared than ever” to win a seat in the capital.

The London Greens are standing in 54 of London’s 74 seats, with London Assembly members Jenny Jones and Darren Johnson standing in Dulwich & West Norwood, and Lewisham Deptford respectively.

Darren Johnson said: “We are fighting this election with more candidates than ever before, and a manifesto for environmental, economic and social justice that the business-dominated mainstream parties cannot offer. We are the party of real choice and the real alternative.”

James Humphreys, a former adviser to Tony Blair, who is the Greens’ candidate for Islington added: “This is the first time the Greens have stood in this constituency since 1987 and shows how, with more members and a million people voting Green last year, we can be an effective political party and still stick to our principles.”
