Cash will cut wheelchair waiting times in Scotland
The Scottish Executive has allocated an additional £1.9 million to help reduce waiting times for wheelchair services.
The cash will be distributed between Scotland’s five regional wheelchair centres, where it will be used to pay for additional staff and equipment.
Deputy Health Minister Rhona Brankin said current waiting times for wheelchair services in Scotland were “not acceptable”, and expects the funding to “make a real difference”.
She added that the funding “should bring immediate benefits to wheelchair users”.
