Going green could save you money
Moving towards a greener lifestyle could help your pocket as well as the environment, according to a new book Save cash and save the planet.
Top tips include buying energy saving light bulbs, insulating your home and loft, buying a fuel efficient car and switching off electrical appliances not in use.
According to the book’s authors, Andrea Smith and Nicola Baird, adopting all recommended green measures could save up to £80,000 over an individual’s lifetime.
Tony Juniper, Friends of the Earth’s executive director, said: “Save cash and save the planet shows that being good to the planet can be good for your budget and improve the quality of your life too. Most of us cherish a clean and safe environment – this book tells you how we can all help this to be achieved.”
