Man arrested over police shooting
Armed officers have arrested a man in connection with a Boxing Day shooting that left one police officer dead and another seriously wounded.
PC Ian Broadhurst was killed when he and two fellow officers pulled over the driver of a suspected stolen vehicle.
His colleague, PC Neil Roper remains in hospital receiving treatment, although his injuries are no longer thought to be life threatening. A third officer, PC James Banks, was unhurt in the attack.
The arrest came in the early hours of this morning following a nationwide manhunt.

Northumbria Police confirmed that a man in his 30s was in custody but declined to offer any further details.
The shootings have reopened the debate over whether UK police officers should be routinely armed.
