Israel targets home of Palestinian militant leader
It is being reported that an Israeli fighter plane has targeted the Gaza Strip home of a Palestinian militant leader in a missile attack.
Several people were injured when the missile hit the two-storey home of Abdullah Shami who was not in the building at the time.
However Israel has denied targeting the leader of the militant Islamic Jihad, saying it was targeting a weapons factory housed in a building next door.
A spokesman stated that ‘a Hamas workshop used to manufacture Qassam rockets and other weaponry’ was the real target.

The strike comes after three Israeli soldiers were killed in an ambush in the West Bank on Sunday night. The al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed group linked to Palestinian President Yasser Arafat’s Fatah faction, claimed responsibility.
Israel has been targeting militant leaders behind a wave of suicide bombings against Israelis.
