Disney to rollout new freeview channel
Media giant Disney is a step closer to rolling out a new television channel in the UK aimed at the two million TV watchers who have Freeview, the digital terrestrial television service.
Walt Disney is looking to broadcast a new general entertainment channel, running initially 12-hours a day from 6am to 6pm.
It aims to compete with the big boys of digital terrestrial TV – the Beeb, ITV and BSkyB.
Revenue will be drawn from advertising, Disney forecasts.

The, as yet, unnamed channel is expected to be available on both satellite and cable television.
The channel is set to go on air early next year.
Disney also partially owns GMTV.
