North Korea nuclear warning
The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is reported to have informed the South Korean government that Northern neighbour on the Peninsula Korea will acquire 45 nuclear bombs by 2010 if the reclusive communist state continues with its nuclear weapons programme.
The South Korean Defence Minister Cho Yong Kil and Information and Communication Minister Ko Young received the warning last month on their visit to Washington, according to reports.
Pyongyang appears to be transferring spent nuclear fuel rods to a reprocessing plant from a storage facility at Nyongbyong nuclear complex, sources revealed.
The news comes amid intelligence reports North Korea has reprocessed 80 (out of the 8,000) nuclear fuel rods.
