Bradshaw: ‘The money lost from rail strikes is more than what was required to settle all of the disputes’
During a sitting of the Transport Committee, Ben Bradshaw (Exeter, Labour) asked Steve Montgomery of the RDG whether the figure of £318 million represented the losses from the rail strike days.
The figure was confirmed. This amount is more than what was needed to settle all of the rail disputes, meaning it has cost more to the economy than the pay rises and reforms would’ve.
