RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch insists that industrial action is working
“What Starmer says is promising, but I want more. Something more robust” says RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch, regarding the Labour Leader’s approach to trade unions.
He said that he is apprehensive owing to the ’empty promises’ of previous Labour leaders like Blair. He needs Labour to commit to something more concrete.
When asked whether the industrial action has been effective, Lynch firmly said “yes”. He said that striking “gives people a chance to fight back”. He apologised for inconveniencing people as a result, and said it was certainly a last resort.
After attending the CWU rally which saw royal mail workers amongst those to walk-out and demand higher pay, Lynch spoke at the TUC congress in Brighton.
