Prime minister, Boris Johnson, announced that the government will “remove all remaining domestic restrictions in law” in a statement to the House.
Labour’s Keir Starmer said that the government’s announcements were “not enough to prepare us for future variants” and pointed to the rumours that the prime minister “couldn’t persuade his own health secretary”. He want on to say that this was a “half-baked announcement from a government paralysed by chaos”.
The prime minister responded by saying that the evidence was “amply there” and that the leader of the opposition had the “wrong end of the stick”.
