Alexander: I am sickened by the regime’s behaviour

Shadow foreign secretary Douglas Alexander responds to news of the Assad regime's crackdown in Homs by emphasises that those responsible for crimes must be held accountable:

"I am sickened by reports that the Syrian regime is preparing a full-scale assault on the city of Homs.

"I welcome the fact the foreign secretary has said those responsible will be held to account.

"We have been arguing for some time that we must do all we can to sharpen the choice faced by those military personnel ordering attacks on their fellow citizens – they must know they will be held to account for their actions."
