Labour: More measured solar proposals needed from ministers
Shadow energy and climate change secretary Caroline Flint responds to the high court's ruling that cuts to solar tariff payments are legally flawed:
"For months Labour has been warning that the government's deep cuts to solar power are bad for the public, bad for jobs and growth and bad for the environment.
"Yesterday's high court ruling shows that what the government has done is not just out of touch, it is also legally flawed.
"Much damage has already been done. Many projects have been ditched. People have lost their jobs.
"Confidence has been dented, with future investment possibly lost for good. But today's ruling stops the government in their tracks.
"The government must now go back to the drawing board and bring forward more measured proposals that guarantee the continued growth of the solar industry, put feed-in tariffs on a sustainable footing and are fair to the public."
