David Cameron: Strikes didn’t achieve anything
Prime minister David Cameron comments on yesterday's public sector pensions strike on ITV1's This Morning programme:
"I don't think it achieved anything. Because we have to reform public sector pensions in a way that is fair.
"Striking isn't going to achieve anything. Particularly while there are negotiations ongoing. I think it's irresponsible.
"There are negotiations ongoing. I'm sure they can be brought to a conclusion. But in the end we have to ensure public sector pensions are good for public sector workers but affordable for everyone else who's going to work and contributing to them."
