1994 Group: Bill ‘can’t be the end’ of reform

Professor Paul Wellings, 1994 Group Chairman and Vice Chancellor of Lancaster University, said:

“The abiding mission of 1994 Group universities is to offer excellent teaching in research rich environments for an outstanding student experience. Today’s decision gives us clarity on how we will continue to do this in a tight spending environment.

“However, this can’t be the end of the reform programme. We want to see the government come forward with proposals for supporting post-graduate students, for valuing arts and humanities, and for maximising the benefits that our world class research brings to the country.”
