Kasper: Britain’s aggressive atheism
Cardinal Walter Kasper, originally scheduled to accompany the Pope on his UK visit, comments on Britain’s attitude to religion to German magazine ‘Focus’. He has since withdrawn from the trip, ostensibly for medical reasons:
“Above all, an aggressive new atheism has spread through Britain. If, for example, you wear a cross on British Airways, you are discriminated against.
“When you land at Heathrow you think at times you have landed in a Third World country.”
