Elton’s sell off nets GBP1.4m
Sir Elton John sold off the contents of his London home yesterday for 1.4 million pounds.

One of Britain’s most cherished singer/songwriters decided to flog off his goods ahead of the refurbishment of the Holland Park home in West London.
The top picking was an oil painting, entitled Madison Square Park, which was sold to a London dealer for 67,200 pounds.
Sir Elton decided to sell off a 19th century portrait of Lieutenant George Dyer painted by James Northcote. The 1817 portrait fetched 55,200 pounds.
A star attraction was a bedroom suite designed by Royal furniture designer David Linley; it sold for 19,200 pounds.
The lowest selling item was a candelabra which went for 96 pounds.
