K9 emotions on the mobile
Vodafone TT, the Japanese mobile phone unit owned by UK-based Vodafone, has announced a launch date for the “BowLingual” dog bark translator.
Vodafone plans to offer dog-loving subscribers the BowLingual CONNECT service on its network from early December.
The new phone converts dog barks into text and graphic representations of K9 emotions.
The optional service in the phone requires a smart card made by Sharp electronics.
The BowLingual service translates sounds into six doggie feelings – happy, sad, frustrated, territorial, assertive and needy, Vodafone said in a statement.
BowLingual was first unveiled two years ago by major toymaker Takara.
It went on sale in Japan in September last year and has had massive success.
