Charles flies home to astonishing allegations
The Prince of Wales’ former deputy private secretary, Mark Bolland, has said a fellow employee of the royal family, Sir Michael Peat, asked him a year ago for his thoughts on whether the heir to the throne was ‘bisexual.’
Innuendo, gossip and hearsay about the unspoken scandal in the House of Windsor dominate the headlines of many of the Sunday newspapers.
Sir Michael this week issued a statement dismissing allegations over the alleged compromising ‘incident’ between Charles and a servant.
Mr Bolland told the News of the World today that he was ‘astonished’ at Sir Michael’s question.
‘I told him that the Prince was emphatically not gay or bisexual.’
But Sir Michael was quoted in the News of the World as saying he had never used the word ‘bisexual’ in his life.
Prince Charles flies home today from his nine-day foreign tour.
Former royal servant Michael Fawcett took out an injunction against the Mail on Sunday this week, effectively barring it from publishing a story from another former servant, George Smith.
It is reported that Charles will appear before TV cameras to defend his reputation should the allegations be published.
The News of the World is running the headline on its front page: ‘IS CHARLES BISEXUAL?’
