Cop killer suspect in court
An American nightclub bouncer has appeared in court accused of murdering Leeds traffic policeman Pc Ian Broadhurst.
David Francis Bieber, aka Nathan Wayne Coleman, appeared before magistrates for a 23-minute hearing in Leeds charged with murdering Pc Broadhurst and attempting to murder officers Pc Neil Roper and James Banks on Boxing Day.
Bieber, who insists he is 35-years old, of Springwood Road, Leeds, was remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Crown Court next Thursday.
There was no application for bail.
Bieber is also wanted in the US on suspicion of murder and conspiracy to murder a man in Florida in 1995.
Bieber was arrested early on New Year’s Eve by armed police at a hotel in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.
