Blair’s chief speech writer quits
Tony Blair’s chief speech writer has reportedly resigned to teach in a comprehensive school.
Peter Hyman, 35, decided to leave Downing Street after working for the Prime Minister since 1995.
Father-of-two Mr Hyman is now a teaching assistant in an inner city comprehensive in Islington, North London.
He is said to be enjoying the job, though has not yet decided whether to stay in the profession and qualify as a teacher, The Guardian reports.
Mr Hyman, credited with Labour’s ‘five early pledges’ and the slogan ‘education, education, education’, left with no publicity at Christmas.
His move was reported in the Mail on Sunday over the weekend.
