Welsh Tory party website hijacked by porn
The website of a Welsh Conservative party branch has been hijacked and loaded with “full-on” hardcore pornography.
Local party activists in Delyn, Flintshire, were shocked to find adverts for Japanese and Western explicit adult pornography posted on the site of their old domain name, which users were still linked to for local news and information.
It appears that the local party forgot to renew their internet domain registration.
However they are now in the process of buying back their home page.
But, as of Wednesday morning visitors to the site were still confronted with explicit images.
Association secretary, Gwadys Jones, said the problem would be sorted out.
“We are buying the name back and everything will be back to normal,” she said.
“We have all been very upset by what happened but this should be an end to it.”
The association has asked police to launch a probe to ascertain who was behind the hijack and take action over the “deplorable” pictures.
